It’s the most wonderful time of the year! That’s right, Birmingham Cocktail Weekend! And we here at StereoRiot are ready to take on all the venues once again to tell you what’s tasty, what’s cool and what’s damn right fiery!
Someone has just informed us that there are 40 venues this year. We aren’t scared, it’s just made us more excited! Especially for The Vanguard at 1000 Trades. We’ve already been told what they’ve got ready for the weekend, but we’re keeping that a secret for now. But for a great atmosphere, outstanding bar craft and insane ice carving, get up to the Jewellery Quarter and make sure you pay it a visit! And don't forget to pop into The Birmingham Whisky Club while you're up there, another addition this year!
Last years ‘Cocktail of the Weekend’ winners Be At One are back as well. This lovely disco-esc party area opposite Grand Central will be one to watch once again, especially with their Wray and Nephew Masterclass on the Sunday evening. And speaking of old favourites, don't forget to visit Malmaison, who pour so much creativity into their drinks, Island Bar, with arguably the best DJ of the weekend and The Victoria, who will be wrestling for the title of Whisky Spot this year!
Speaking of events, this year is even more jam-packed. Whilst many are booked up (you can still join the waiting lists), Hotel Du Vin are hosting a glorious Atlantico Rum and Chocolate Masterclass throughout the weekend, Chambord are hosting various afternoon teas at Marco Pierre White and Bols are back with their unmissable masterclasses at The Distillery.
And we know that drinks are the subject of the weekend, but it always goes hand in hand with outstanding food. With venues such as Bodega (for some unbeatable nachos), Amantia (if you want the best Tapas in Brum!), Canal House (for absolutely gorgeous dishes by the water), Rub Smokehouse (for pun-tastic plates bigger than your head) and loads more! You won’t be going hungry!
